Essential After Care for Car Window Tint

Protecting Your Investment: Car Tint Aftercare
Congratulations on your new window tint! To ensure your tint cures properly and lasts for years to come, it's crucial to follow a few simple aftercare rules. Proper maintenance will keep your windows looking flawless and maintain your warranty.
The Golden Rule: Do Not Roll Down Your Windows
This is the most important step. After installation, the tint needs time to adhere to the glass completely. Do not roll your windows down for at least 3 to 5 days. Rolling them down too early can cause the film to catch on the weather stripping and peel off.
Understanding the Drying Process
It's completely normal to see a hazy appearance or small water pockets (bubbles) under the film for the first few days to a few weeks, depending on the weather. This is part of the curing process as the moisture evaporates. Do not poke, press, or try to push these bubbles out. They will disappear on their own.
Safe Cleaning Instructions
Wait at least a week before cleaning the inside of your tinted windows. When you do clean them, use a soft, clean microfiber cloth. Never use paper towels, as they are abrasive and can scratch the film.
Products to Avoid
The most critical rule of cleaning is to avoid ammonia-based products at all costs. Ammonia will destroy the tint over time. Use only dedicated, ammonia-free glass cleaners or a simple mixture of mild soap and water.
Long-Term Maintenance
Be careful when loading and unloading items into your car. Sharp objects, seatbelt buckles, or even rings on your fingers can scratch the film. With gentle care and the right cleaning products, your premium tint will look great for the life of your vehicle.
